Counting on you

“A nation that forgets its past, has no future”.

Winston Churchill

Today is the day that most or many , but not all take the time to cast their vote. I am not sure why people decide not to vote. I have heard it said, ” It doesn’t matter anyway, the president is already chosen”. I don’t know if that is true, but I need to cast my vote because this country is a Republic. I want to participate as much as possible in the process that I have control over which is my vote. I have heard news agency and I have read articles that keep call this country, the United States of America a Democracy. They are wrong then, now and they will be wrong in the future when they say it again, again and again. Each time they will be wrong. This is a Republic which means we have representatives from our individual states and for our leader the president of the United States of America.

This is the time to make a difference to choose a president and vice president. I have probably never really liked any of the presidential candidates since I have been voting. It has always been about the lesser of two weasels, or lesser of two evils. The last time around I voted for Hillary Clinton not because she was a better candidate. I just felt Trump was fine for TV drama, but not to be the leader of the free world. The leader of our free country. I didn’t think he was fit to be Commander and Chief of the US armed forces. In fact in the last 4 years, he reminds me of a woman I went out with. She and I spent 10 days together on a European cruise. If you really want to know an individual, spend it on a cruise. She wasn’t able to hid things. She has the same character which is she couldn’t let things go. Over the littlest things she would be so vehemently mad. You would think something terrible happened if you got to observe her. I am talking about their character.

“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power“.

Robert Green Ingersoll …………about Abraham Lincoln

Regarding their character. I ended up going to therapy after that trip to Europe. My therapist and I worked through my issues, but first we talked about her, Ms. V.. As I explained the incidents that happened which were very painful to me. She told me what she thought about Ms. V. My psychologist felt that she was most likely a borderline personality disorder, bipolar and obsessive compulsive disorder. I think these also explain our current president. His impulsive behavior and the way he can’t let little things go. He has to comment or tweet about this thing. My therapist told me that borderlines are master manipulators and compulsive liars. She also stated Ms. V is narcissistic. I also noticed she never apologized for anything. Would not acknowledge anything she did was her fault. For instance, through out our luggage tickets. She would not take responsibility of throwing away the tickets. She blamed others for loosing our luggage. (If we had our luggage tickets it would be easier to find them.) I know I didn’t go into all the details about this trip. We the American public on on a trip and it is time to let him go. He is not well and I don’t know what happened to him. I know Ms. V was either neglected or abused( verbally, sexually or physically) in someway which broke her.

After I voted in 2016, I went to bed thinking Hillary has this in the bag. I went to bed. In the morning I was shocked that she lost. Literally my mouth dropped down when I heard the news. I didn’t know it was estimated 46.9% of the possible voters out there DID NOT VOTE !!! We need everyone who is eligible to vote to actually go down to the polls and vote. The Roman Empire was around a lot longer then so many countries. Even they only had a hand full of really great leaders. They were around for 500 to 1500 years with only a hand full of great leaders. Why would you and I expect this election to be any better? For me so far in my life time, the presidential vote has always been the lesser of two evils. I see Trump as the worst of all the candidates. He lies to much. Spins so many things way to much. For example, he didn’t bring peace to UAE and Israelis. It is something that was out of his control. All I can say is you need to read about it.

We have been on this drama trip for way to long. I encourage you to vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris because they are the best ones on the ballot. I am not saying they are the best. Of course they have their problems too. I am saying they are the group which is the lesser of two evils. I believe, they will certainly go by norms that have been established in our Republic. They seem to be more law abiding then Trump to me. We need someone who will bring our allies together again. There is plenty of bad things going on in the world. Lets not keep adding to it. We need unity in the world, so that we can heal the world of climate change, and the bullies of the world. Trump won’t be that person. Vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris who will move us in a healthy direction.

Seeing is believing ?

We are so inundated with so much information on a daily bases. We get this through news feeds from regular news stations, in our emails, magazines, newspapers, Twitter, Facebook and all these other platforms. Yet, how many of them are bias? How many of them are pushing an agenda? What is being left out? How many of them are true? What parts are true? Do they tell both sides? If not, why not? I have seen videos without sound when sound is so important. I have been told it is 2/3 of the story. I have read and seen stories and it has been edited to promote a certain response. We are able to see so many kinds of videos now. If something is left out, what is really going on? Is this really about divide and conquer? If it is, that stuff has been going on for a long, long time. I had a great Humanities teacher at American River Jr. College. It was in the 1980’s, she stated often in class that we must ask the questions about things. She often stated,” It is not that you get the answers, but that you ask the questions”. I’d gathered by the time I took her class she had been teaching a long time. She challenged people’s beliefs.

It seems to me that people aren’t asking the questions. I see so many people are just storming out the door with one thought. A knee jerk reaction to something that came on some news channel? Could it be one direction that someone gave them. I have wanted to speak up for some time now, but I held myself back. One of my excuses was that I didn’t know how to use the software on Word Press. I could give you other reasons, but they aren’t all that important. My intention here is to speak up. To lend a voice to let cooler heads prevail and that we come to middle and not to either extreme. It seems as a society were aren’t very balanced. I see that parties on both sides are at fault here. When I think of extremism I think of the Taliban, Islamic State of Iraq and Levant, al-Qaeda, Al-Shabaab, Boko Haram and many others in the Middle East. To me we seem very divided by religion and political lines. I mention religion only because it seems to be a the driver behind some much in politics.

First, a little bit about me. I spent some time in England as a missionary. It was actually in the East Midlands. It was a wonderful place. I talked to lots of people there. For the most part they often were mostly friendly. I didn’t get yelled at too often. It was a time of reflection and spiritual growth. It was while in this time of reflection and talking to people. I think I was siting on a bench having lunch of crisps (potato chips), biscuits (cookies) and some fruit. I realized that “people are people”. The only real differences are our language, geography and customs. We want similar things, we have similar desires and similar problems. The only thing that has really changed is technology. I always wondered why people don’t want to talk about politics and religion? The two very things that guide our lives. My intention of this blog is to bring balance and critical thinking to the narrative. My ultimate goal would be to unite the people to follow the US constitution and follow the rule of law. I know that we can accomplish so much more being united and working together.
